Hi! I just got into a school in Hungary (I’m from Canada) and I’ve been searching for apartments there. What surprises me is the number of furnished apartments available. I started wondering though… is this hygienic? Are the mattresses/couches etc cleaned/replaced before being rented out or…not? I am aware this may be a stupid question, but better safe than sorry. Thanks!
I am an American that also lives 6 months per year in Hungary.
I love the place but I don’t think they are as worried about germs in general then we westerners are.
You can always go to IKEA store or someplace and buy a mattress cover and your own small household items if you don’t like what they are offering you.
we have our own place in the city but a few years ago, we rented a flat for 6 weeks downtown in Budapest while just on holiday.
It wasn’t cheap(in the 5th district) but although it had sheets and dishes etc. I had to wash everything before using them.
Things were a bit "funky" but it wasn’t flithy, just not up to standards.
I suppose it would be best to see the place before singing a lease, we were in a hurry and just took the place without much thought.
Hungarians in general are very clean but rentals are always questionable anywhere.
They sell some stuff called,Hypo for cleaning, it will kill just about any germ on earth, it’s real cheap and extra strong.Just don’t use it on your clothes or they will fall apart.

Where can I find the best apartments in Indianapolis?
I’m moving to Indy in August and I am trying to find a 2 bedroom 1.5-2 bath apartment that is in a nice area. I am trying to spend no more than $800 a month. I have looked on many different websites but I want to hear from people who actually live in Indy. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Will future apartment rentals be affected if I were to get a cockateel?
It would be fun, *maybe* to have a cockateel. Are they real noisy?
Would it be too much for a small apartment?
Do landlords *NOT* rent to a small bird-owner like if you had a cat or dog?
It depends on the apartment rules, they all have different ones. But PLEASE keep in mind, you will be very annoyed. They are noisy and very very messy! It will be neat for a while, and then you will be ready to give it up. Also be ready for about a 30 year relationship.
Are there any reasonably priced rental apartments in the Florida Keys?
Rent is pretty steep down here – the Upper (Key Largo) and Middle Keys (Marathon) are cheaper, of course, than Key West. You may find something reasonable in the Lower Keys (Big Pine Key, Cudjoe Key). You can always try a roommate to help out.
